Team wins first land use referendum in Paradise Valley history and passes first property tax in Mesa in over 60 years
PHOENIX – Local public affairs consultants, HighGround, Inc. racked up nearly a dozen wins in last night’s historic election. The victories were tallied across the Valley ranging from Buckeye to Mesa. In Paradise Valley, HighGround’s team, with the help of Integrated Web Strategy and Rose and Allyn Public Affairs, won the town’s first-ever land use referendum with 66.87% for The Ritz-Carlton.
HighGround also made history with the passage of Questions 1 and 2, the Public Safety and Transportation Bonds, in Mesa. Both bonds came along with a secondary property tax to pay for these essential projects, a first in Mesa in over 60 years. The team was also successful in several other local and candidate races:

The cap off a very successful 2008 election season for HighGround including the election of newcomer Scott Smith as Mayor of Mesa in May as well as the September landslide victory of Russell Pearce against his well funded primary opponent and a record number of independent expenditure committees.
