Cunningham Diving Deeper into Water Policy
Stepping Down as HighGround’s General Counsel
PHOENIX (June 24, 2019) – Veteran attorney and public affairs professional, Patrick Cunningham, will be retiring from his General Counsel position at HighGround Public Affairs Consultants to focus exclusively on water and environmental policy issues. 
With the passage of the Drought Contingency Plan earlier this year, much work remains to be done in Arizona’s water policy arena to help shape our state’s future. Patrick will continue to work with select HighGround clients on an array of water and environmental issues.
Cunningham has served as General Counsel for HighGround since 2012. The firm will be announcing a new General Counsel in the very near term.

During his 40-year career, Cunningham has advised clients on a range of issues, including election law, public ethics and environmental compliance. A proud native Arizonan, Cunningham has admirably served his state and country as an assistant U.S. Attorney, Deputy Director of the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality, Section Chief Counsel at the Arizona Attorney General’s Office and a Captain in the U.S. Army’s Judge Advocate General’s Corps.
