A new poll from Moore Information has Congressman Paul Gosar leading Senator Ron Gould by a 31-21% margin.
Bob Moore, who has a history of calling them right in Arizona, does a good job of taking a scientific, balanced approach to his research. Here’s what he finds:
“By a two-to-one margin, voters are positive about Gosar’s support to “increase the federal debt ceiling in order to prevent the U.S. government from defaulting on its debts and requiring $4 in spending cuts for every dollar it raised by eliminating tax loopholes.”
It appears that voters understand and agree with Bob Robb’s column today that Gosar’s vote to raise debt limit was wise. As Robb points out, even the acolytes of Ron Paul understand that the debt ceiling will have to be raised. Sticking your head in the sand and saying no to everything is not the way to move this country forward. Voters understand this and its likely part of the reason why Gosar’s advantage climbs to a 43%-9% in a ballot post-test.
Voters want leaders with political courage to do the right thing for Arizona and our Country, and stand up and defend their decisions, not ideologues that marginalize themselves, thump their chests, and point the blame on the man who does the work.

The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood; who strives valiantly; who errs, who comes short again and again, because there is no effort without error and shortcoming; but who does actually strive to do the deeds; who knows great enthusiasms, the great devotions; who spends himself in a worthy cause; who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement, and who at the worst, if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly, so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who neither know victory nor defeat.”
Here’s hoping that Arizona voters return the hard working dentist to Congress to do the job Arizona needs done!
