It shouldn’t be a surprise today that politicos will attempt to assign blame to Kevin Tyne, but the reality is that Kevin was an equal to any Chief of Staff who has served any previous Arizona Governor.
The times, however, are radically changed. Due to the spending spree of the Napolitano administration, the State has been left with little or no politically palatable alternatives to resolve the current budget impasse. Tough choices have to be made.
The Governor has never blinked from the challenge. Her very difficult choice to elevate Eileen Klein is yet another example of her commitment to try to right the fiscal ship of State. Klein’s legislative/budget experience and executive management skills are just the tonic to resolve the current impasse. It gives many people great hope that working with the Senate Leadership, both majority and minority along with the able leadership of the Speaker and the House that a resolution to our budget challenges is not far off.
Kudos to the Governor for having the courage to make an extremely tough choice. Double kudos to Tyne for soldiering on and understanding himself the need for Klein’s leadership at this time.
Kevin’s new role as an advisor to the RGA will prove invaluable in helping the GOP retain the governorship in Arizona and elect more governors throughout the West.
His access to the Governor and her clear confidence in him should prove an invaluable asset in building solid relationships that will benefit this administration in the months ahead.
