At Highground, we have had the opportunity to work with some special people who have played integral roles in Arizona’s rich history. We have always looked to help candidates who have a clear reason for running for office, and a vision for how they can see that through. We are honored to have the opportunity to work with Leah Campos Schandlbauer in her bid to represent the new 9th Congressional District for those very reasons.
Leah is a perfect fit for what drawn to be a unique and diverse district. As a former CIA Operations Officer, she is well aware of the issues that face our nation both domestically and overseas, and is committed to doing the right thing, even if it’s not the easiest one.
This is especially true when it comes to immigration. Leah understands that the rhetoric on immigration is stuck at the extreme ends of each party. As a result, no meaningful work gets done. We have talked for a long time about the soft expectations of our largest trading partner and the need to elevate this conversation from a race issue to a long-term economic and national security policy discussion. Indeed, Leah’s background and professional experience would provide an important voice in this debate on both local and national levels.
The 9th District has seven candidates in the Republican primary. All of them are great people with good ideas. Indeed, we are friends with many of them and know that CD-09 would be served well by any of them. However, we feel Leah stands out and is the right person for the job. We are also happy to join Jay Heiler as an advisor to the campaign. Together with Jay, Highground will be holding a fundraiser at Governor Fife Symington’s home on a soon-to-be-announced date.
The motto we all abide by here at Highground is “Make It Happen.” Leah is someone who can do just that. We hope that you will hope us in supporting her for Congress. To learn more about her, visit her website at www.LeahforCongress.com.
