For the past three years, HighGround has been the principle
public affairs consultant for the Maricopa 2020/Yes on 400
committee helping to develop the 1/2 cent transportation
sales tax continuation plan that is being considered by Maricopa
County voters on the November 2004 ballot. The issue has
grown from issue awareness to coalition building all the
way through plan creation. HighGround helped the clients
gain a seat at the table and become a driving force during
plan development. Following the successful passage of the
legislation approving the plan, Highground was retained as
the principal campaign consultant for the Yes on 400 Committee.
The firm has managed this issue through two legislative sessions
and managed Proposition 400 to a 57% victory in the November
2004 general election.
